In my "Discover" feed on Blue Sky, I came across a post of an "oil painting" which looked blatantly like it was AI-generated (it was not posted by the artist). I pasted the image URL into an AI-detector site and it determined that it was 90-something-percent certain that it was AI. I searched the artist's name and found her website. All of the paintings look AI-generated, but other sites I found with articles about her showed her at an easel or drawing table with paints and brushes, some with contour drawings on canvases or surfaces she was working on, but it's hard to tell if she actually paints them or embellishes them with paint after printing them out. The details in many of them are very intricate and complex, but it is possible to paint such things if one has the will and the patience - I've done drawings and paintings with painstaking detail on occasion. Assuming that she actually does physically paint these pictures, it made me wonder: Unless someone was trying to make a sarcastic or ironic statement about AI art, why would they want to make a painting that looks like it was generated by AI? Her works are not narrative or statement-making - they're essentially "decorative". Maybe it's just the "challenge" of it to her.

The source didn't say much other than a title of "The Dark Side Of Gilligan's Island". I assume it's a dummy on the ground but I can't really figure out what's going on there. Neither standing Gilligan looks like Bob Denver and the people in the background are confusing. I guess it could be some CBS production lot from the '60s - judging by what you can see of the cars. Maybe that's a boom lift at the left?
My leather gloves got wet this morning. They are dry now, and very stiff and rough. Are they salvageable?
I think they are but don't flex them while they're stiff. Get some oil back into them; leather dressing, . If it's a waxy paste it won't absorb easily/rapidly but if you preheat your oven for a minute or two until it's warm but not hot (120 or so) turn it off and put them in there, it'll help get it soaked in. If it's very thin leather, if you put them on it might have broken enough fibers that they won't hold together, but I bet they'll be fine.

Something like saddle soap, neatsfoot oil, or mink oil might work (though they seem to be made more for boots). There are probably other, more hi-tech leather conditioners made nowadays.

It was a joke, because every time I go to a certain beach (actually one of several) the gay guys hang around waiting for a pickup, and then go into the bathrooms. I am both amused and grossed out. What if a guy just wants to take a piss, do they always have to confront that?
