Let us not forget one of the earliest conflicts with established immunology and the concept of herd immunity. Fauci deliberately played with the numbers in order to scare people into submitting to the vaccine. . NYT: Fauci acknowledges moving goalposts on herd immunity from COVID-19 . Then we were told that taking the Covid vaccine would prevent infection and also further transmission of infection. It was presented as an absolute. Neither was true. . People were forced to take it whether they wanted to or not, that is if they wished to be employed, remain in the armed forces or travel or simply enter local establishments such as restaurants. Vaccine passports became a required certification in order to simply lead a "normal" life. . The bottom line is that we were lied to and tricked into submitting to the vaccine rather than making it optional. Side affects of the vaccine such as myocarditis and embolisms were hidden. Fauci himself got a pulmonary embolism after his vaccination yet it was hidden in order to keep his narrative intact.
A troubling timeline of public advocacy and private crisis ... A troubling timeline of public advocacy and private crisis ... On December 22, 2020, Fauci received his first Moderna dose at the NIH Clinical Center in a carefully publicized event designed to build public confidence. By June 19, 2021, his diaries show he was struggling with the aftermath of a pulmonary embolism that required immediate medical intervention. Yet Fauci continued to advocate for universal vaccination without disclosing his personal health crisis. . Cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough wrote on Substack that the episode was a "direct result of a pulmonary embolism which is a known side effect of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccination." McCullough argued that Fauci's private medical management contradicted his public advocacy, writing that the public health leader "navigated his own recovery with the specialized care of top-tier pulmonologists and radiologists" while simultaneously "championed policies that forced the populace into a state of medical compliance." . ... The question of vaccine-associated cardiac events has been documented in multiple studies. A September 2021 pooled analysis from Singapore identified 30 patients who developed cardiac symptoms within 14 days of vaccination, including 29 acute myocardial infarctions. Among that cohort, five developed heart failure, two experienced cardiogenic shock, three required mechanical ventilation, and one died from cardiovascular complications. . A December 2025 Stanford Medicine study identified a potential biological mechanism for vaccine-associated myocarditis, finding that mRNA vaccines can trigger a two-step immune response involving cytokines CXCL10 and interferon-gamma that promotes inflammation capable of injuring heart muscle cells. The study noted vaccine-associated myocarditis occurs in approximately 1 in 32,000 people after a second dose, with highest incidence among males age 30 and younger. . The American public has taken notice of these patterns. A recent KFF poll found that only 51% of adults express "a fair amount" of trust in CDC and FDA guidance, while 86% trust their personal physicians. ... . Trust and transparency in public health
The Fauci diary revelation underscores a fundamental tension in pandemic-era public health: how much risk should leaders disclose when advocating for population-wide interventions? . Fauci's private management of a potentially vaccine-related medical crisis, while publicly demanding universal compliance with the same intervention, has further eroded confidence in federal health institutions. ...

Quick recap of something that really happened, to remind folks that - at the beginning of an epidemic - you donât know whatâs going on, or how to address it. This was a terrifying period for people like me, sitting next to young men dying of rare diseases. Would I be infected from exposure?
Then remember the beginning of Covid, and the uncertainty.
âCovidâ or âCoronavirusâ?
Skin contact transmission or airborne?
Mask or no?
Why are some people lying about being unable to wear masks and not thinking of others?
How long after exposure do you get ill? How long are you infectious?
Does it go away or ruin you somehow for the rest of your life?
Will it mutate into something that kills the unborn?
Why the headaches and loss of smell?
If itâs a virus, and antibiotics donât work, how about this antiviral? No?
Well how about this one? No?
Well, keep trying.
But remember, you cannot move slowly on this. The bodies are literally being stored in refrigerator cars adjacent to the ED because people are dying so fast. Make a decision, dammit!
I can't believe you're engaging with this at all. Obviously hysterical bullshit a la "It will all be over by spring" or injecting bleach or taking a dewormer or vandals with boxcutters in the reflecting pool or eating cats and dogs and on and on and on. These people are not the thought leaders of our society.
You're not going to change indoctrinated minds. Their cult leader could shoot someone on 5th avenue and the followers wouldn't care - in fact, they'd wear face masks (NOW?) and kill innocent people on the street and in their homes.
A real discussion of the confusion about Covid-19 doesn't involved Rand Paul, ophthalmologist and well-recognized shit-stirrer. But if does involve the intentional dispersion of misinformation over social media by domestic and foreign agents, and the fools who listened like it was gospel because they thought they were doing their own research. You know, if you don't understand the basics of immunology and epidemiology then your "research" is simply mindless parroting.
I started a response...had lunch...and you popped in. I just posted... I'm done.
Truth is a generally accepted outcome or reasoning while fact is a proven truth ... in other words every Fact is True but not all Truths are facts. Example 1+1=2 is a fact (only one result proven truth), but 2=1+1 is true but not fact(infinite result as 2=1x2,2=6-4,2=2+0 to infinity
Fauci lied repeatedly and knew it when he did it. That and he also profited from his attention that he sought out. The million dollar award that Fauci directed his employees and subordinates to nominate him for.
Defending science ? No, he lied about the science. Deliberately.
You constantly want to pinpoint moments when you attack, yet embrace theory when you defend Trump.
I can accept that there are times when providing guidance or setting direction for the CDC is making a choice between two paths, neither of which is perfect.
Take one of MAGA's favorite topics: masks.
First Fauci said don't wear them...then he said wear them... make up your mind dude. But it's a LOT more nuanced.
Our collective understanding of the virus was changing daily. It's a job where you make "best guesses" based on decades of experience. You have no idea what's gonna work, where things are going to go, if it's going to mutate, etc., etc. etc.
To re-examine history is to find flaws in nearly all decisions. Hide site is indeed 20/20. Ask Napolean, Hitler, Kodak, Blockbuster, IBM, and countless other people and organizations that made decisions which upon further review sucked.
I'm done re-litigating something from six year ago that has been raised purely for political theater to make YOU happy. If it wasn't for you supporting this sort of bullshit, it wouldn't happen... but you're happy to have something to "share" while ignoring the war, the economy, healthcare, Trump's selling of America for exponential personal gain, the pointless and expensive vanity projects, the deficit, the political abuses of the DOJ, billionaires buying elections (you've lost your hard on for Soros?), or anything else that matters right now. On those issues, you go into witness protection.
Talk to you when the next conspiracy driven "risk to America" blankets Fox for a week. Can't wait to see what Obama, Biden, or some other historical figure on the left did years ago that puts our way of life at risk.

This! I bristle or chuckle each time I read or hear someone claim he or she is doing his or her âown researchâ on issues like the Covid vaccine or climate change. I am a somewhat educated person, but I know I have absolutely no ability to do my own research in those areas because I lack any basis or foundation for doing so.

Apparently not. You're not dealing in the truth. Truth is the state or quality of being in accord with fact. You have none.
The diaries show the reasoning, uncertainty, and frustrations of someone dealing with a complex situation with countless unknowns. Did he enjoy the attention too much...sure. That doesn't support calling him a murderer.

You're the one playing with intellectual bankruptcy here by deliberately conflating unrelated deaths with Covid deaths which is the subject at hand, not total global deaths from all causes. . Why the conflation ? Cannot you come up with any reply that specifically deals with Covid deaths and how in what seems to be in your opinion, that Fauci bears no responsibility for any Covid deaths ?
I'm open to considering your evidence... if you're willing to share.
I have clearly stated my position, as an opinion. . kurtster wrote:

Little harsh. There seems to still be some uncertainty over his role at NIH/research funding. Did it meet the definition of gain of function, etc. There is also the evidence of how he tried to sway the pandemic narrative. If he is innocent of the above, no big deal. If guilty, then to me that's (steering the narrative) an even bigger problem for him. I'm guessing we will never truly know the answers.
Yeah, a little harsh. But using a broad brush one could reasonably conclude that if it were not for Fauci there would have been no Covid 19 in the first place. It is up to Fauci to set the record straight. Until then that is the answer in the absence of any other answers that I will be using.
And I stand by this. My opinion is based upon recently revealed information aka "evidence" in Fauci's own words (primarily from Fauci's recently revealed diary) which confirms what have been only accusations so far. . We are learning solid and damning evidence which Fauci is unwilling to rebut. It is still all unfolding. . You wish to proceed in a discussion only using "evidence". What evidence do you have to counter what has been revealed to date ? . There is plenty of actual evidence regarding the treatments of skeptics by the powers that be. Skeptics which have since been proven to be much more correct than wrong. This event is one of the most profound life changing events in my nearly 74 years on this planet. And in my opinion has been the largest grift ever in my lifetime engineered by the disciples of Saul Alinsky who in his book Rules For Radicals famously urged to never let a crisis go to waste. . This is what the real discussion is about now. The analysis of Covid and its aftermath is the penultimate rabbit hole to explore. The truth is out there. And the obstacles to it are being removed at long last. Do you not want to know the truth ? If you do then it requires an open mind and consideration of the plausible, which usually ends up being the truth. . The only way to find out answers to questions is by asking the right questions and if you take the plausible off the table as a basis for asking questions, then you will never find the truth that you seek. . I subjected the last sentence, my supposition, to the scrutiny of google A I to see if my oars are in the water and am not afraid to share the results
Asking the right questions meanskeeping plausible ideas on the table so you can find the truth. Dismissing realistic possibilities early blocks your path to discovery and leaves your questions without true answers. Why Plausible Ideas Matter
Guides the search: Realistic options point you in the practical direction of facts.
Prevents blind spots: Keeping options open stops you from missing real answers.
Tests assumptions: Valid ideas let you check what is real versus what is false. <1, 2, 3, 4, 5>
How to Ask Better Questions
Keep an open mind: Do not throw away good ideas before you test them.
Test each option: Check every likely choice with care and logic.
Look at the facts: Let real evidence shape what you ask next.
If you want, tell me what topic or problem you are working on, and I can help you build a list of good questions to find the truth.

You should look up the term intellectual bankruptcy. I think you're confused.
If you are going to start counting global deaths, you need to add the USAID cuts by the administration and the loss of increased affordable care act subsidies which can both be tied to Trump.

USAID cuts... estimated to be 14 million by 2030-
Number of new uninsured this year due to subsidy reductions.. up to 5M. Deaths tbd...
But at least we saved ~$24B (net)so we could focus on the war, a new AF One, a ballroom, the Victory Arch, the reflecting pool, and other very needy projects.
