I still have my Disney yellow school bus lunch box, but lost the thermos.
It’s retro.

Lamonica, Stabler, Biletnikoff, Blanda and not to be forgotten Doug Otto, number 00. They were my football heroes.  Remember when the Raiders were playing in a bleacher stadium next to the Nimitz Freeway.  Actually got to see them all play in one game.  Monday Night Football against the Browns when I first got Cleveland.  Blanda actually took some snaps in addition to kicking in that game.

Across the Bay I had Mays, McCovey, Alou, Marichal, Sanford, Cepeda, Perry and Duffy.  Perry and Duffy ended up here together in Cleveland.

The SE/30 (codename Fafnir) was in development when I first started at Apple, just down the hall - seems like a few lifetimes ago!

For a while afterwards, people who bought an expensive Mac that quickly became outdated were said to have been "IIvx-ed".

the iicx was a workhorse (for the time) so it only made sense to upgrade to the iivx. In the shop I worked in, there wasn't much of a preference but I used the cx for almost 4 years, the lc "pizza box" for a home machine for several years too. I never heard anyone raving about the vx capabilities but I never heard my co-worker complain about it either.

I'm sure if it was your first computer—especially if you were coming from a Windows world—it sucked a lot. By that time we were in the ecosystem so we hardly knew anything else. Neither did Adobe/Aldus.

There are a few ways to measure how fast a pH-dependent chemical reaction occurs. One is to measure how fast the pH changes with time. Of course that means that the rate changes as the reaction approaches equilibrium. Another is to add acid (or base) to keep the pH the same and measure how much acid you need to add with time. That measures the rate at more or less the same distance from equilibrium. Pros and cons to each. I took a syringe pump with a tube from the syringe into my reaction vessel and attached a flat gear plate to it. Then I attached a round gear to a motor to drive the flat gear forward, adding acid, The data logger monitored the pH of the reaction and told the motor when to turn.

Nice on the disk utility.

Now that's cool.

Designer a pH controller? Please share.

Before getting a PC, I had the Radio Shack Color Computer. Very much underrated computer, IMO. I had the original Coco and then the Coco II and the last one was the Coco 3. I wrote a program for the Coco 3, it was a disk utility program where you could copy/delete/rename files and so on. I was pretty proud of that.
