Of course not. Which is why this is a stupid diversion in the news, like the other bullshit

No. Trump says he’d disband the pandemic preparedness office—again (2024). And they voted for 'chubby' again in case there's another pandemic. And muh taxes.

Using your logic, the same can be asked about Epstein and the files, right ?

Was anyone harmed by Fauci's actions/inactions/private thoughts of vanity? Did people die? Did he create a dangerous vaccine?

Remember that we knew little about Covid, the various strains that kept popping up, changes in virulence, etc. We had trouble measuring its spread. Fauci and others did the best they could. Perhaps someone could have done a better job, I don't know.

I do know that Trump lied to people about Covid, that he regularly downplayed the dangers of Covid despite getting contrary advice, that he cut funding for public health programs, that he tried to blackmail state officials into supporting him in turn for federal funds and supplies.

I do know that Trump pushed people to inject bleach and/or Ivermectin in order to combat Covid. People died as a result of thought and his failure to lead during the crisis.

So stop whining about Fauci. You want to blame someone, start with Trump.

If you can't admit Trump's failings and misdeeds during the Covid crisis, your arguments don't deserve consideration.

AS FOR THE EPSTEIN FILES:

A massive group of men raped and trafficked underage girls. There's considerable evidence that Trump participated. Maybe you think pedophilia, rape and institutional coverup are neat-o, but those of us with morals and a belief in the law think those men should be in prison. So yes, the Epstein files matter a goddamned great deal.

KURT, YOU KEEP SAYING IF YOU DON'T HAVE BORDERS, YOU DON'T HAVE A COUNTRY.

IF WE CAN'T PUNISH CHILD RAPISTS, DO WE HAVE A SYSTEM OF LAWS, DO WE HAVE A COUNTRY?

Finally, for now, one more thought.

At my age It is hard to be surprised anymore by much of anything.  Yet I can still be amazed.

It is still amazing to me how someone so smart can be so stupid.

To put your deepest and darkest thoughts, aka a diary, on a government server and expect them to remain secret is truly amazing.

Nap time.

just watch the ludicrously nonsense interview with Kennedy today and you’ll see that this administration has no concept of right and wrong. Just showmanship, bullying, and self-aggrandizement. Obama made that mistake: trying to be by partisan. The Republicans would have no part of it. They don’t deserve our respect now.

The public - myself- would appreciate some direct answers, regardless of the clowns doing the questioning.

Fauci taking the fifth makes him seem a coward. Lord knows the pandemic had plenty of screw ups, some intentional and others just mistakes.

It would have been helpful to hear Dr. Fauci’s insights and reflections on the pandemic… what could have been done to improve its management, and which decisions may have made the crisis worse.

But of course, the republican cowards weren’t after the truth, and for that in some way I don’t blame him for taking the coward’s path. but he could have stepped up and put them in their place.

As this discussion evolves, I have come to another conclusion.

IMO, Fauci was playing god and has been caught red handed.  Now he is and his willing worshippers are facing the reckoning for their actions.

Make of this what you will.

ymmv, of course.

Oh yes, of course! How could I ... wait a minute!

This was a long-overdue moment on CNN.

RFK Jr. called out the network on air for helping to silence dissent during COVID.

Dana Bash was getting visibly irritated, after she repeatedly tried to move the conversation away from censorship.

Then he aimed his fire at Dana Bash directly: “Of course you want to move on because you were part of the problem!”

KENNEDY: “We need to protect our constitutional rights. That is the primary obligation in our country.”

BASH: “What does that mean?”

KENNEDY: “Well, during COVID, we completely dismantled our constitutional rights. We began censoring people in violation of the First Amendment.”

BASH: “You’re saying what not to do, I’m asking what to do.”

KENNEDY: “Well, that’s something to do. That is the number one priority: we protect the Constitution.”

BASH: “Forgive me, but you’re talking about rights and I’m asking about a potential public health crisis that is coming. But I do want to… let’s…”

KENNEDY: “And one of the mistakes we made last time was suppressing those rights. So people weren’t being heard. Doctors who were saying, ‘You’re doing it wrong,’ were being marginalized and vilified.”

BASH: “Again, I really want to move on…”

KENNEDY: “Yeah, of course you want to move on because you were part of the problem!”

BASH: “No! I wasn’t part of the problem!”

KENNEDY: “There was absolute press malpractice. Your job is to have a fierce skepticism toward authority, and you weren’t doing that.”

“You were beating up on people who were dissenting!”
