Glen Campbell was one fine musician, especially on guitar. He had huge hits when Flea and I were kids.  It's an Honor for him and Nick to cover his work.

I am a fan of neither Nick Cave nor Glen Campbell, but this cover is oddly compelling. (That said, I still think Nick Cave always sounds like he's singing drunk karaoke at a bar.)

So you CAN kill a great song.

this was truly an emotive song, one worth covering

It's 'soulful' and trying to be different, the horns are nice.... but it lacks the wistfulness that the original has that makes the song what it is. I wouldn't need to hear this again for a long time vs the original or other versions. A for effort tho.

Not bad. I also like the Glenn Gregory/British Electric Foundation version from Music of Quality and Distinction V1.

this is a new one for me, I just saw a bit of a documentary of Nick Cave and Flea did a bunch of commentary, makes sense now.

Interesting interpretation. Honestly, it makes me want to hear the original version. It's one of the best recordings of the last century.

I think this is a brilliant match-up.  It sounds like the original song has aged and presented itself again in much the same way that Flea has gone back to his roots and is presenting himself again.

I really like Flea's trumpet play on the whole album - very fine as I can tell.

I heard this was coming out. Definitely didn't expect the Wiki definition of the insect! LOL

Didn't see THIS coming...Nick Cave & Flea?! Interesting...

I'm sure there's a good reason that the text underneath Flea's photo describes the insect instead of the musician.
